Commissions Closed & Dec Art

Sat Dec 5, 2009, 12:30 AM
(My apologies for the long-winded journal)

EDIT: 1.Commissions are now closed again; thanks so much, everyone! I will make every effort to open them again, but it won't be until the spring or summer, at least. You can still review my prices and rules here:

[link]

2.Second, the December donation art is now available. That is page 4 of Jack's comic as well as another supplementary color image. This one is a little random, I guess....I'd wanted to draw Charizard, but decided to make him more anthro and give him some clothes to emphasize his gut (he's got kind of a rounded belly anyway). And then it seemed logical to make it a holiday theme, so I thought....Christmas party at the office, why not? Which is why I chose to dress him the way I did; I'm sure some will recognize his outfit ;) He makes me smile. Anyway, 10 bucks each, details on donation art can be found here: [link]

3.Also, I'd like to say Thank You to a kind commissioner who has given me a new-used computer for nothing more than the cost of shipping! My old machine is just about ready to pack it in, so it came at the most opportune time, and is much more up to date and a heck of a lot quicker. Thanks so much, man, this is already making a world of difference!

Many kind thanks as well to everyone who's donated, especially those of you who have sent large sums recently for groups of images. December is going to be brutal; I've got both my license renewal and plates this month, so that's another $100 to heap on top of Christmas shopping and the recent emergencies that have cropped up. I know I say it often, but I really couldn't make it without you. You guys are awesome!!

4.One last thing: I've transferred my address book to my new machine and condensed the mailing lists, but if anyone has signed up for site updates and found they didn't receive an e-mail notification, please let me know!

*Oh and also, don't forget! District 9 on DVD Dec. 22nd!! :boogie:

Thanks, Happy Holidays!

When will there be more of this?

A word about my commissions: I get a lot of similar questions about the pictures I post here and on my site; people ask if I'm going to continue a certain comic series or take the project from line art to color in the near future. Please, read the description of the image; if it's listed as a "commission", that means someone paid me to draw it for them. I personally had nothing to do with the characters or what's happing in the picture/comic, I just drew what was described for me. If the person paid for 3 comic pages, we did 3. If they paid for line art only, that's what I did for them. I'm truly flattered that folks are so keen on these pieces, but it's not up to me in any way to make more for the set or scenario. If there is to be more added to a project, it's up to the person who bought it to commission more.

And in regard to making additions as a request instead of a commission, I regret that my financial situation will not allow me to take requests at this time. I can't even get my own projects done right now.

November Donation Pic

Sat Oct 31, 2009, 12:17 AM
New Donation Series for September-February

The November page of this comic is now ready, a little early :) Halfway through Jack's story, he's looking pretty darn fat already. I like the way this page came out, I hope you will too!
Happy Halloween!!

Link below for full details:

The Storyteller has provided the plot for this 6 page comic series; he is the commissioner of the Max Longear and Fat Wolf comics on my site and, as could be expected, this series is a stuffing themed story. It features a cougar named Jack and his pudgy friend TJ kangaroo. There will be one line art page per month and each can be obtained for a $10 donation.

Please visit: [link] for complete details.

Bad August, New Don. Set, and D-9

Wed Sep 2, 2009, 10:06 PM
Hello, all! Last month was indeed pretty crappy; if you'll forgive the exposition: My grandmother ended up in the hospital (again) for a nasty fall and is still in therapy. My current health insurance provider raised my rate by another $30/month and I had to spend a lot of time on these horrible list-everything-that-has-ever-happened-to-you forms for other providers, only to have them turn me down for pre-existing conditions. I still don't know where I'm going to find a better rate. I had two serious problems crop up with my car that had to be repaired (brakes and tires). And my printer up and died on me (I need it to print out the descriptions and references for commissions so I can have them at my drawing table as I work) so there's another $200 for the credit card. When it rains, it pours, I guess.

I wouldn't have made it without my soul mate :iconcosmic-riptide: and the ever-awesome :icongoldfox20:
Thanks, guys! You rock!

However, for those of you currently in the process of getting artwork from me (and all those still waiting for me to contact you) I offer my most sincere apologies for making you wait so long. I've spent a lot of time away from my desk this month and my productivity is shameful, but I am still getting things done one bit at a time. I'm hopeful projects will begin to move forward more quickly this month, knock on wood.

District 9

My fiancé took me to see this movie a short while back and it has easily and instantaneously become one of my new favorites. I wouldn't want to reprise my usual role as Captain Bringdown and rant about the evils of humanity, so I'll skip that *cough* and simply say I've fallen madly in love with these aliens. Absolutely smitten. I adore their feet and cute tentacley mouthparts….my only complaint is that there are, as of yet, no action figures. Let's get on that, Mr. Jackson! I must have a Christopher of my own….

Avido is done!

Sat Aug 1, 2009, 7:03 PM
Yup, page 6 of 6 is ready, none too soon. Looking forward to moving on to the next project, but I am reasonably happy with the arc. I hope you'll find it a satisfying end to the small story, I've never had to make a comic set all on my own before.....either way, I can't thank you all enough for your help! :)
